Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I apply if I live in one state but am willing to work in another?

No. You must be based in the state you apply for. Each state has specific local language requirements, and the project needs collectors who are already resident there.

Is this a paid role?

The original post does not specify the stipend. Nationwide research studies typically pay data collectors a daily rate (₦5,000–₦15,000 per day) plus transport and lunch. Confirm during training.

I have never used Kobo Collect. Can I still apply?

You can, but your chances are low. Spend a few hours learning Kobo Collect via free YouTube tutorials before applying. Mention that you are a fast learner and have used other digital tools (e.g., Google Forms, ODK, SurveyCTO).

What is the UNICEF Agora Primary Data Collection Course?

It is a free online certification offered by UNICEF. You can complete it in 3–4 hours. Having it is an added advantage. If you do not have it, do not lie – but you can say “willing to complete it before deployment.”

How many people are selected per state?

Exactly two Data Collectors per state. That means only 74 people nationwide. Competition is high – apply early and showcase any prior fieldwork.
